Association Overview - Glen Allen Business Professional Association

The Glen Allen Business & Professional Association is a voluntary association whose membership is comprised of companies, civic leaders, and individual business people. Its Members seek to promote the interests of other business members.  The Association will strive to develop and publicize business opportunities in the Glen Allen/Short Pump/Innsbrook communities of Richmond, Virginia, as well as work for the betterment of local schools and other community institutions. We will offer a range of programs and services to our Members, including information and advice on timely business matters, opportunities for networking, and a variety of publications. We will also provide our Members with numerous forums - task forces, committees, special events, and so on - in which to express their specific views and concerns pertaining to the challenges facing small businesses.

Objectives

Our business and professional organization is designed to promote the businesses and professional efforts of members of our community. To achieve this goal, GABPA continually seeks to fulfill the following objectives:

  1. Maintain an organization that is focused on promoting the businesses of its members.
  2. Provide educational and networking opportunities for all members, including business-oriented workshops and seminars, effective networking events, business referral groups, and community service programs.
  3. Offer helpful member benefits including: member-to-member discount programs, co-op advertising opportunities, social networking opportunities, and Web advertising programs.
  4. Constantly strive to improve GABPA programming and opportunities by periodically surveying members for feedback.

GABPA members are excited about each opportunity to interact with fellow business and professional GABPA members. Amongst the many benefits of GABPA membership is the inclusion into a supportive community that aims to improve business opportunities and successes for all members.

To help our members achieve their successes, we provide networking opportunities that enable them to share information about their own businesses and to learn more about the services offered by other members. These networking opportunities lead to business opportunities and referrals that establish long-standing business relationships and enable our members to thrive professionally.

Additionally, we offer educational opportunities, which include seminars and one-on-one sessions with business advisors so that all of our members can have easy and convenient access to resources that can help them to grow. Together, GABPA members help one another achieve greater business success.

Keys to Success

GABPA relies on the efforts and participation of its community members to achieve its continued success – and to further the successes of our members. These keys to success include:

  1. Structured networking opportunities that provide a forum for our members to interact and learn about one another.
  2. Shared support and promotion of members by members.
  3. Business growth programs, including opportunities for one-on-one business counseling, pertinent workshops and seminars, and close contact with business peers within the Association.
  4. Continual business referral efforts by all members, ensuring that each member receives a substantial return on investment (ROI) into the Association.
  5. Eagerness by all members to conduct business with fellow GABPA members
